Contrary to its name, Nutfield Priory Hotel has
never been a Priory but has a long, interesting history dating
back to 1872. It has been
a private residence, a very expensive luxurious hotel in the
1930s, a school and Canadian soldiers were stationed here
during the Second World War.
Nutfield Priory Hotel is a country mansion of dramatic proportions
set high on Nutfield ridge with sweeping views of the Sussex
and Surrey landscape. Its glorious tall stained glass
windows would befit a cathedral and roaring log fires from
its marble fireplaces set the mood for your special day. There
is
even an organ, built in 1874 which still plays to this very
day. When holding your reception at Nutfield Priory, you will
be guaranteed the freshest produce sourced locally, and menus
that change with the seasons using local ingredients and homemade
dishes. The olive oil is sourced from their very own Villa
Saletta olives groves in Italy and the wines are produced
from grapes grown in their personal vineyards.
